"Preparing for the great Judgment"

"Preparing for the great Judgment"

The date of Rosh HaShana (the new year of the Jewish calendar)
It reminds us that we have to start correcting our souls, returning them to their original state, to integrity.
The person who begins his spiritual correction in the part of the soul of Adam HarRishon (The first human being) that is in him, discovers during the first ten days, in which he experiences the ten spiritual states the difference between the state current and the perfect state, from which his soul fell, and thus he, reaches the correction of his soul that is composed of ten sefirot, which symbolize the ten days of teshuva (days of repentance).
When he understands the magnitude of the difference between the two states, he asks for forces of correction and feels that he needs atonement.
This state is called in spirituality "Yom Kippur" (day of forgiveness) from which the word "kapara" is derived (atonement in Hebrew).
This is the order of the spiritual states that man goes through:
From Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur, the man reveals what he has to correct.
On Yom Kippur he asks for the forces to help him correct himself, on Sukkot he receives these forces and the correction passes, and on Simchat Torah he ends with joy the work of uniting the parts of his soul of "Adam Harishon"
On the 25th of the month of Elul the world was created, according to the opinion of the Great Sage Rabbi Eliezer, whose point of view we follow regarding the calculation of the calendar. On that day, on which Heaven and Earth were created, six days later was the creation of Adam and Java (Adam and Eve) the first human couple created on Rosh Hashana. (1st of the month of Tishrei)
This is why in some communities it is customary in the period between Elul 25 and Rosh HaShana to read the initial verses of Bereshit (Genesis) that relate the days of Creation.
