Parasha Koraj (Bamidvar-Numbers 16-18)
One of the teachings that this Parasha e s brings us about the seriousness of the dispute.
"Because Adam caused harm by eating from the Tree, he brought corruption and conflict to his seed.
Immediately after sinning, Cain and Abel began to argue with each other. Their discussion was a precursor to all the disputes and conflicts to come, especially those against the Tzadikim (great righteous). Thus, their conflict spawned Koraj's conflict " (Likutey Halajot)
Korach separated himself from Aaron the Kohen because he felt that he could support himself, he did not care about the evil inclination.
In the end his arrogance of Koraj led him to his perdition, the earth swallowed him along with his 250 followers, his women, children and all his belongings.
We must be very careful to maintain the dispute, our sages teach "that everyone who loves the dispute loves the transgression"
In Hebrew the word dispute or controversy is "Majloket", it contains the words "Jelek" (part) and "Met" (Dead). It is said that the person who enters into controversy (dispute) part of it dies.
Controversy is also said to bring poverty.
So, it is best to keep our distance from people who like to dispute.
Or better, act like Aharon:
It is written in Pirkei Avot (ethics of our Fathers) "Love Peace and Pursue It"
(1,12) "Hillel taught, you must count yourself among the students of Aharon, who loved peace and persecuted it, loved creatures and brought them closer to the Torah "
What trait characterized Aharon's personality? Our wise men comment that when two people had a disagreement, Aharon approached one of them and told him: “I have met with so-and-so-his rival- and he told me how heartbroken and sorry he is for having spoken harshly to you, he feels ashamed and sorry and does not know how to apologize to you. " Subsequently, Aharon addressed the other and repeated the same words until he managed to appease him and eliminate the resentment from his heart. After a few days, when both rivals met, they hugged and kissed and became friends again. And he proceeded, Aharon, in the same way when a couple argued. That is why the verse says when Aharon died: And "the whole" house of Israel mourned Aharon for thirty days, for even the women mourned his death. Thousands of children were called "Aharon" in his honor, because if it had not been for Aharon they would not have been born, since their parents were estranged from each other.
