"The Book of Creation Bilingual Edition"
Hebrew/Spanish Edition
The Kabbalistic text that was most often translated into Western languages, the most famous and widely distributed, but also the least known.
This great work, "Sefer Yetzirah," addresses the theory of pairs of contrasts, which are in constant conflict but find their balance in unity. Thus, for example, the opposites fire and water find their harmony in the element of air. Seven pairs of contrasts are cited: Life/Death; Peace/War; Wisdom/Ignorance; Wealth/Poverty; Beauty/Ugliness; Fertility/Sterility; Dominion/Servitude.
This book teaches that man is a moral agent, morality residing in his capacity for free will, and therefore each person receives punishment or reward as a direct and natural consequence of his actions.
The Sefer Yetzira describes the creation of the universe by the Supreme One through the thirty-two paths of wisdom: the ten sefirot and the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet, of which: three mother letters (Aleph, Mem, Shin) seven double letters (Bet, Gimel, Dalet, Kat, Pe, Resh, Tav) and twelve simple or basic letters (He, Vav, Zain, Chet, Yet, Yud, Lamed, Nun, Samach, Ain, Tzadik, Kuf). The book describes how the Supreme uses such elements, combining them to give rise to all that exists.
In this sense it is worth saying that both the macrocosm (universe) and the microcosm (man) are the product of the combination of those thirty-two Sefirot and Hebrew letters.
The cosmos consists of three parts: world (space), year (time), and human being. This physical reality is a reflection of the spiritual dimension of creation, to the point that physical reality exists only because it has its root and counterpart in the Realm of Emanation. Essential existence precedes physical existence.
