56th anniversary of the reunification of the millenary Jerusalem

"Yom Yerushalayim"

One day like today it was heard:
"The Temple Mount is in our hands"
During the Six-Day War, the people of Israel, with Divine help, were able to decisively defeat their enemies! The war raged on three fronts, and during the six days of fighting, our enemies collapsed and were utterly defeated. During those days, all the holy places of Judea and Samaria were liberated, and above all, Jerusalem, the site of the Holy Temple, the Sinai Peninsula, and the Goslan Heights. Anyone who watched the events with a spark of faith in their hearts clearly saw the fulfillment of what is spoken in the Torah in Deuteronomy 23:15:
"For the eternal your G-d who walks among your camps to save you and deliver your enemies into your hand..." This victory was truly "A Manifest Miracle"
In order to thank the Eternal and publicize the Miracle, the Rabbinate of Israel under the direction of Rabbis Iser Yehuda Unterman and Yitzak Nissim, instituted the 28th day of the month of Yar, which is when the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount were liberated, as a Day of Thanksgiving and Joy for all the people of Israel.
They also instituted that the Hallel be recited with a prior blessing, after the Shacharit service.
Rabbis Zavin and Israeli also participated in the decision-making process.
